Weiss jewelry is being imitated by many knockoff manufacturers. Pictures below are of both the backs and the fronts of original Weiss jewelry in order to show the difference between an original and a fake. Fakes are usually a very poor casting (not soldered together). Weiss did use some castings, but they were good quality and smooth. The majority of Weiss fakes are pave (glued). Weiss did use some pave, especially ribbons in later jewelry. Weiss also used pave for all of his ravioli jewelry. All of early Weiss costume jewelry was made with fine jewelry making techniques. Weiss soldered his jewelry together. The stones were prong set and they were fine Austrian Zwaroski crystal. This is the quality as a Weiss collector you should look for.
